GomSpace appoints space industry veteran as new Chairman
GomSpace today announced a change in the Board of Directors, appointing Stefan Gardefjord as new Chairman and Steen Hansen as vice-Chair from October 1, 2023.
As previously announced, the current Chair Jukka Pertola was expected to step down from the board this year and leaves the board as from 1 October 2023.

Jukka comments: “As earlier announced, the growing focus on good corporate governance is casting a critical view on how many board positions one should have. To address these worries, I have decided to reduce the number of my positions. Now, after GomSpace has successfully executed the rights issue, CEO change, and expanded the board with new competences, it is the time to pass the token to Stefan Gardefjord. He is definitely the right person to bring GomSpace to the next level together with the new leadership.”

Stefan Gardefjord comes with long history and experience from the space Industry, most recently as President & CEO for Swedish Space Corporation AB, a pioneer and leader in providing advanced space services globally. Stefan joined the GomSpace Board of Directors after the general assembly on May 31, 2023.

Further, GomSpace is securing continuity in the Board leadership, by appointing long-term Board member and key investor, Steen Hansen, as vice-Chair. Steen is representing GomSpace second largest investor, Hansen & Langland Aps, and has been on the Board of Directors since 2017.
