Examples of Platform Configurations

Below we have listed some examples of configurations and main performance parameters that can be configured with our platform technology. Contact our sales team to learn how we can match the specific requirements of your next satellite mission.

1U  - NanoEye

The NanoEye configuration is based on the following selections:

  • 1U Core Platform Package
  • Camera payload

The satellite provides the following key resources to the payload:

  • Payload volume: Integrates the NanoCom C1U payload
  • Payload average power: 1.3 W
  • Pointing performance: Stabilisation to the local magnetic field
  • Downlink typical per day: 2 MB (1 ground station, SSO orbit)

The configuration is expecially useful as an entry level platform for training and capacity building projects and is often delivered together with on-site training activities.

1U  - NanoEye

3U  - GOMX-3

The picture to the right is of GOMX3 satellite launched in 2015. Its design is based on the following selections:

  • 3U Core Platform Package
  • Fine ACS & ADS
  • GPS

Based on this platform the satellite integrated three payloads: ADS-B receiver, SDR experiment & an X-band transmitter experiment.

The satellite provides the following key resources to these payloads:

  • Payload volume: 2U
  • Average available power for payloads: 3.5W
  • Pointing performance: 1-2 degrees
  • Downlink per day: 3 MB (1 ground station, ISS orbit)

A 3U platform with this or a similar configuration are ideal for demonstration missions e.g. to demonstrate new radio techniques using our SDR payload.

6U - GOMX-4B

The illustration to the right is of the GOMX-4B satellite design to launch in Q3 2017. Its design is based on the following selections:

  • 6U Core Platform Package
  • Fine ACS & ADS
  • GPS
  • S-band communication
  • Inter-satellite link
  • Propulsion

The platform is hosting these payloads on the GOMX-4B mission: Hyper-spectral camera & star-tracker experiment.

The satellite provides the following key resources to these payloads:

  • Payload volume: 2.5U
  • Average available power for payloads: 2W
  • Pointing performance: 1-2 degrees
  • Downlink per day: 800 MB (1 ground station, SSO orbit)

A 6U platform with this or a similar configuration can support many operational missions including e.g. surveillanceIoT and low transmit duty-cycle communication types of missions.

12U Platform

The illustration to the right is of a 12U configuration. Its design is based on the following selections:

  • 12U Core Platform Package
  • Fine ACS & ADS
  • GPS
  • S-band communication
  • Deployable panel (not shown)

A 12U platform with this or a similar configuration can support many operational missions with demanding requirements e.g. intensive communication or remote sensing types of missions.

The satellite provides the following key resources to these payloads:

  • Payload volume: 8U+
  • Average available power for payloads: 6W (no deploable panels), 18W (1 dep. panel) & 30W (2 dep. panels)
  • Pointing performance: 1-2 degrees
  • Downlink per day: 2 GB (1 ground station, SSO orbit)
