GomSpace and RAL Space (UK) are proud to be announced as the winner of the first ESA SCOUT challenge by consolidating the ESP-MACCS mission (Earth System Processes Monitored in the Atmosphere by a Constellation of CubeSats).

The mission aims to understand and quantify processes in the tropical upper troposphere and stratosphere, study its variability and contribute to trends analysis in its composition and its effects on climate and vice-versa.

The mission consists of three 12U GomSpace CubeSats equipped with payloads developed by RAL space, to be launched in 2024 and will become the first “Climate mission” of its kind.

The team will enter into negotiations for detailing the full mission expected to be kicked off in Q1 2021.
