Electrical Power System

NanoPower P80 is a Electrical Power System (EPS), designed to expertly handle power collection and distribution for satellites spanning 6U to microsat sizes. With the capability to handle solar arrays producing up to 300W output power, this system is equipped and carefully tested to meet the demanding requirements of space missions throughout its lifecycle. NanoPower P80 is closely connected to BP8.

Power Supply Module:

Up to 300W output power.
Scalable size up to 5 stacks. (9 combinations see option sheet).
Compatible with the GomSpace 6U structure and supports PC-104 mounting holes.
The system can be interfaced through 3 Gecko connectors with multiple pins for each channel.
Dimensions: 95 mm x 95 mm x 38.8 to 65mm (with 3 or 5 modules).
Mass: From 360.8 to 619.6 grams (with 3 or 5 modules).

Power Management Unit (PMU):

Serves as the central power controller handling up to max 12A input and output simultaneously.
Managing up to four battery pack sets (battery packs can be in parallel coupling to increase capacity).
Overseeing EPS master and kill switch logic.
Deployment device control.

Array Conditioning Unit (ACU):

Manages power flow from solar panels to the battery and the overall power system.
Featuring 12 Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) boost converters (12 x 1 A).
Killswitch/Remove Before Flight (RBF) inhibit switch.

Power Distribution Unit (PDU):

Controls power distribution to satellite subsystems.
12 low-voltage latch-up protected (LUP) channels, fed by 3 converters, each configurable to 3.3 V, 5 V, or 12 V with up to 96% efficiency.
4 high/low-voltage LUP channels, fed by 1 converter, configurable to 3.3 V,
5 V, 12 V, 16 V, 18 V, 20 V or 21.8 V.
8 high-voltage LUP channels delivering raw battery voltage.
LUP channels are max 2A, but some can be paired to provide max 4A.
All configuration is done on order time via Option Sheet for P80 PDU.
