Deployable Solar Panels

Our Deployable Solar Panel System (DSP) is designed to fit on the side of a 3U or 6U satellite. It is composed of three panels connected with spring loaded hinges. During launch the panels are folded to the side of the satellite inside the deployment pod. Once in space a release system deploys the panels.

The Deployable Solar Panel design consists of an aluminium support structure for the slim profile and low mass while maintaining robust construction with enough thermal mass to ensure lover thermal stress once the solar cells.

highlights

versatile configurations

The Deployable Solar Panel (DSP) comes in three versions, a 135°, 135° reverse and a 90°, which can be mounted on a 3U or a 6U structure. Each version consist of a mounting panel for attaching to the spacecraft structure and 2 deployable panels covered with solar cells. By purchasing for example a 135-degree wing it will generate up to 18W per DSP.

Aluminium structure

The design of the Deployable Solar Panel (DSP) consists of an aluminium support structure for the slim profile and low mass while maintaining robust construction with enough thermal mass to unsure lower thermal stress onto the solar cells.

Each wing stows against the side of the satellite structure during launch and is deployed in orbit. The wingspan of a single deployed wing is 163 mm when mounted on a 6U structure.
