Tracking Solar Panels

Our Tracking Solar Panel System (TSP-45W), enhances your satellite platform’s power efficiency through a deployable solar array equipped with sun tracking. This solution seamlessly integrates with platforms as compact as 6U, featuring suntracking along one axis facilitated by our NanoPower SADA-50 mechanism. To secure the solar arrays during launch, the Hold Down Release Mechanisms are employed.

NanoPower TSP-45W enables sun tracking about one axis, enhancing energy generation efficiency in orbit.

panel release

Upon command, the panels release, allowing the low-mass carbon fiber support structure to unfold, spanning 980 mm per wing from the spacecraft’s center when affixed to a GomSpace 6U structure. Each panel accommodates 15 triple junction solar cells, enabling each wing to generate a power output of up to 45 W. Two wings will as such be able to generate up to 90 W.

easier connectivity

After deployment of the arrays the angle can be controlled for sun-tracking by the Solar Array Drive Assembly for maximum power generation. Easier connectivity of power and communication through a connection-PCB which allows for customers own development of internal harness.
