From Concept to Operations
PHASE 1
Mission Consultation
The journey begins with a close dialogue to understand mission objectives, requirements, constraints, and desired level of involvement. This phase establishes the foundation for a successful mission.
PHASE 2
Concept Agreement
A shared mission concept is defined and agreed, including scope, responsibilities, schedule, and high-level system architecture.
PHASE 3
System Design
The satellite system is designed in detail, covering platform configuration, payload integration, interfaces, and mission performance to meet defined requirements.
PHASE 4
Assembly, Integration, and Verification
The satellite is assembled and integrated, followed by systematic verification to ensure all subsystems perform as intended at system level.
PHASE 5
Testing and Launch Preparation
Environmental, functional, and acceptance testing are completed, and the satellite is prepared for launch, including documentation and launch provider coordination.
PHASE 6
Launch and Early Operations Phase
Following launch, GomSpace supports spacecraft commissioning and early operations to verify performance and transition the mission into nominal operations.
PHASE 7
Mission Operation & Control
The satellite enters its full operations phase, supported by HOOP (Hands-Off Operations Platform), which automates, scales, and simplifies satellite mission control.
With the IOD-1 satellite, Startical has taken its first steps in space towards its vision of deploying a global constellation of small satellites to provide continuous real-time communication with aircraft over oceanic or remote areas where no such services are in operation today.
